Granada to Sevilla: 251 km (2 hours 54 mins) on the A-92.
We were reluctant to leave Granada — the city was good to us — but excited to be heading to a new place. Sevilla is a important religious centre in Spain and the Semana Santa processions here are rumoured to be intense.
As we left Granada, we passed many olive plantations. However, as we got closer to Sevilla, there was less plantation and more rock and Arabic influenced towns perched upon said rock.
In mythology, Sevilla was founded by Hercules. In reality, it’s origins are thought to be with the Tartessian civilisation. Some scholars have even linked the city to Atlantis.
