We spent all of our evening in the lovely Seaport Village, a cute little shopping area with a rather macabre history. The “village” was built on what was originally known as Punta de los Muertos, the area on the San Diego Bay where Spanish seamen who died of scurvy were buried during the Spanish expedition of 1782. Luckily for us, the village was not a source of doom but rather a place for ice cream, fresh air, salt water taffy, nice walks, popcorn, and interesting collectibles.
