Most children in the UK are familiar with (or have heard of) Noah’s Ark on Pleasure Beach in Blackpool. The Park itself dates back to 1896 and the Ark ride was built in 1921; it still uses the original rocking mechanism and has changed little since it was redesigned in 1936.

In 1936, Percy Metcalfe an associate of Joseph Emberton (known in England as a pioneer of modern architecture) was brought it to revamp the ark to the cubist style. The new animals were ready for placing on the Ark in February and March 1936. Source
