{"id":1894,"date":"2009-02-19T09:00:14","date_gmt":"2009-02-19T16:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wp.wend.ca\/?p=1894"},"modified":"2020-06-19T21:34:44","modified_gmt":"2020-06-20T01:34:44","slug":"blue-bike19-feb-2009-900","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wend.ca\/?p=1894","title":{"rendered":"Blue Bike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not quite the <em>Blue Urban Bike<\/em> program, in the Dominican there were blue bikes peppered around the resorts that could be used by staff to get from point A to B quickly. All were onesies (one speed) and had baskets attacked the back for carrying stuff.<\/p>\n<p>In Calgary, the U of C is the only place that I know of that has a borrow a bike system. It was originally the <em>U-Bike Program<\/em> with it&#8217;s multi-coloured recycled bikes. I&#8217;m thinking the program was abused because it evolved to a bike sign out \/ in library system rather than a ride and park system.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zipcar.com\/\">Zipcar<\/a> community is combined version of a checkout\/borrow system &#8212; except with cars.
