As you fly into Vegas, it’s easy to spot the Luxor. It’s the 3rd largest hotel in the world, the second-largest in Vegas, and it shoots a laser beam from its pinnacle that can be seen from outer space. <\/p>\n

At 42.3 billion candlepower, the Luxor Sky Beam is the strongest beam of light in the world. Using computer designed, curved mirrors to collect the light from 39 Xenon lamps and focus them into one intense, narrow beam, engineers say that a person could read a newspaper by Luxor\u2019s Sky Beam from ten miles up. On a clear night, the Sky Beam is visible up to 250 miles away to an airplane at cruising altitude and is clearly visible from Outer Space.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Another hotel with a theme, this one is obviously modelled after Egypt. Hieroglyphics are carved into the walls, statues of Egyptian gods are everywhere, and it has a strange relationship with death and mystery. <\/p>\n

It’s known for its replica King Tut’s tomb, is currently showing both the Titanic<\/a> and Bodies Exhibits, and the Luxor’s headlining act is Criss Angel.<\/p>\n
