If there’s any coffee shop in Vancouver that has a glutton of articles written about it, it’s Revolver. They’re known for their beaker style pour-over coffee and to watch the barista’s weave their magic is inspiring.<\/p>\n

I’m a tad bit torn about the Revolver experience. It’s an interesting place, the people who work here are fantastic, and the coffee has the potential to be legendary… however, they use Phil and Sebastian<\/a> beans and it gives their espresso\/coffee a watered down taste. Because of this I had the same first drink experience that I had at Phil and Sebastian… take a sip… wait for the taste… wait for it… and wait for it… and wait for it… and it doesn’t happen. Their pour-over coffee makes me think that they’ve invented something new called coffee-tea<\/em>… it tastes steeped.<\/p>\n

I was so disappointed that I had to go back a few more times to make sure that some magical moment didn’t slip past me while I was looking for a lid. The wow<\/em> never came, though I did accidentally discover that their lattes taste stronger when they’re cold. <\/p>\n

I haven’t completely given up on Revolver, I like the hangout vibe but certainly won’t make a special trip for the coffee.<\/p>\n
