I was in a cab and the cabbie was talking about Marks Work Wearhouse<\/a>, their new flier, and how he had new heated insoles in his boot. <\/p>\n

My wife found cheap underwear there too. The kind that doesn’t show any lines. $7 a pack. You should check it out.<\/em> <\/p>\n

This is one of the many characters I meet during my commute. The next topic of conversation was rather over the top…<\/p>\n

You know, I head out to a certain acreage often where there is an old fart and a beautiful young woman that’s his wife. They look like they’re very much in love until the husband is out of town. Then I am dropping off other people. I wonder what’s going on when the husband is out of town. I get a lot of regulars like that.<\/em><\/p>\n

It occurred to me that you’d never want to piss a cabbie off. They’ll spread the word faster than you can say fliers and affairs<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Last weeks driver was new to Calgary and it was his first day on the job. I ended up chasing him down the street as he drove 10 houses away. Then I gave him directions to the airport because he didn’t know how to get there. I felt really bad.<\/p>\n

The problem was his GPS. He tried using it, but GPS is only good if you have English typing skills… it’s one thing to speak English, but translating and typing is a whole different ballgame, especially when you have to type bizarre sounding street names. <\/p>\n

Again… eye opening and I’ll certainly keep this in my usability back pocket for the next time I’m on a project that involves GPS software.<\/p>\n

Beyond the driving adventure, today’s commute was rather typical. Vancouver is raining, Calgary is chinooking, and cabbies are watching over both cities.<\/p>\n
