The flooding continues in the city but the rains have stopped. In parts, it’s like a war zone with all the debris, mud, felled trees, soldiers, police, and constant sirens and helicopters above. Mosquitos are bad.<\/p>\n

We’re in a community that is above the ridge so we’re not affected by evacuations… however, our basement is still flooding and our street is having problems with the speed in which water is rushing down the hill. <\/p>\n

All the work that we (and the city) did to our house and the street in 2005\/2006 have prevented the worst damage… for those who remember our community in 2005: there are no swimming pools in people’s living room and roofs are still intact.<\/p>\n
