It took us the better part of a week to get up to Scotland, and we did the haul back to London in a day. Distances in the UK are not as long as they are in Canada, so the drive back to Birmingham took 6 hours and once there we managed to hop onto a commuter train back to London.<\/p>\n

With Easy Car you need to return the car clean and luckily the rental kiosk is next to a car wash. Once there the turn around time was incredibly fast. Getting on the train was equally as fast. It’s cheaper to buy your return ticket when you buy the original; in this case it was 1 pound extra. Since we already had our ticket we simply arrived, hopped on the train, and headed back to London lickity-split. In reality, it doesn’t matter if you have a ticket or not when you hop on the train. If you don’t have one you just buy one from the nice man in the red jacket when he comes checking people’s tickets.<\/p>\n

I love the trains. I wish Canada had a better developed rail system. It makes going places easy, fast and cheap. I couldn’t help but wonder if we were on a similar train to the one J.K. Rowling was on when she came up with Harry Potter. I can see why it’s easy to let your imagination go wild as you pass through England. I love it. It is a place that really inspires, and much has been inspired by the countryside. There must be a muse on every corner!<\/p>\n

The commute isn’t bad; it’s fast with only a few stops (in other words it’s not a milk run). It took us an hour and a bit to get into London and another half an hour to get back to the flat. The rest of the day was spent wandering around Camden Town.<\/p>\n
