Yet another amazing day at the beach. Mari, Andrew and I lounged all day at the Turtle Beach. No one else came by. First we snorkelled in the Turtle Lagoon then we lay in the sun. We watched a very large eagle fly around us and looked for sharks in the water near the very rocky section of the beach. Then we played Frisbee before heading back.<\/p>\n

We saw some really cool things while we were lounging around and walking through the jungle: vines taking over trees, termites eating a log – they reared up and threatened us when we walked by, a humungous spider with a web that was a big and as strong as rope, termite tracks on all the trees, and an army of ants marching through the jungle. We couldn’t see the beginning or the end of the marching line.<\/p>\n

Andrew reminded us of a sad thing we saw in Kota Baru. We saw two birds chasing a butterfly. We watched them loop and twirl through the air fighting over who would get the butterfly. We laughed at their antics until a car came and hit one of the birds and the other got the butterfly. We were stunned by the scent of the dead bird that was so alive a moment ago, now lying dead in the street. It was enough to make all three of us silent.<\/p>\n

We saw a bright red tree, some petals that had fallen off a bizarre looking plant, and lizards everywhere with bright red tongues. I chased one which had spots away from a turtle egg hole.<\/p>\n

The water at Turtle Beach was clear and baby blue. There was a storm last night so the beach and water were clean. There were also no fish. We saw a rock we though looked like a giant sea worm or turtle eating a fish. It was on the rock island out where the sharks frequent.<\/p>\n
