I have begun to keep track of my life as a series of YouTube videos — or more succinctly, weekly chunks of common YouTube threads that seem to hit work and spread like wildfire.
The past two weeks were the CSI I’ll create a GUI interface using Visual Basic to see if I can track an IP address weeks. In English, this is akin saying: I’ll build a car using a banana so I can go out and grab the mail. My favourite comment in the string that follows is: “Hahaha, so stupid. Girls can’t make computer stuff.”
This week’s YouTube chunk is the Greg the Architect themed thread. This is my whole life right now: SOA this and SOA that so our client can become the SOA ROI VIP. It’s nice to know that there are others out there who yearn to be dripping with ROI. (Key: Service Oriented Architecture / Return On Investment).
I wasn’t certain if another YouTube video would come in time for next week’s periodic water cooler soirées until I stumbled upon this lovely little ditty. I’m not entirely sure of how I got there, but when I saw the words: “All characters and events in this video are entirely fictional,” and the name “Matthew” associated with “Developer Abuse” my first thought was: no… it couldn’t be…
But alas, it was and I seemed to have stumbled upon video proof that our Matt is really just a serious guy and that behind all the bravado is a developer broken after years of abuse. Realistically, I think I gave myself a hernia in the midst of all the laughing over the paradox (Matt is one of our recruiters and happens to be a funny/eclectic/crazy to the extreme). It’s a clever clip.
