I give you Kima in silhouette from one of our runs. She was attacked by a strange dog a few weeks ago. The “strange” dog suddenly flipped out while Kima was standing beside me (on leash) and pinned Kima to the ground by her throat.
This lasted all of three seconds; as the owner rushed to pull his dog off poor Kima, Stryder appeared out of nowhere running at an unbelievable speed. When he hit the dog it flew about 3 feet in the air and then slid along the ground for another couple of feet (this was dog that was much bigger than Stryder).
As we all stared open mouthed, Stryder assumed a protective, head down pose much like Tramp from Lady and the Tramp when he was protecting Lady from the alley dogs. As he was making some unearthly growling noise I realized that Stryder isn’t the wimpy, flower sniffing, hippy dog I always thought he was.
The other dog decided it didn’t want to fight Stryder and didn’t bother us again.
