Watch where you step and what you touch. The cemetery is now considered part of the inner city and people do odd things in cemeteries. This from our tour guide. We already know. A month earlier we were looking for John Ware’s grave when we accidentally stumbled upon a group of six vampires who were playing in the cemetery (in the middle of the day).
Calgary has done a great job of converting its cemeteries into parks (some have bike paths) and preserving the city’s history through these cemeteries.
However, the history doesn’t keep La Niña interested for very long. Instead, looking for cemetery Angels and imagining the stories that go with these stones keeps her captivated for hours. Below are some of our findings.
We also popped over to Burnsland to say hello to Stanley Coops. He’s my only relative buried in the city.
