I’m a sucker for photos of boats — particularly fishing ones; and, it was a real pleasure to watch and photograph the people of Canoa Quebrada as the prepared their jangada’s for the day.
I’m told that the reefs in this particular area are positively teeming with life. And fishing excursions rarely come back empty handed.
It was also a real treat to get to watch village boys work together to bring in their own tiny fishing vessel.
There was one really sweet moment when, as four boys carried the boat, the littlest one walked behind and sang a song that had a strong marching beat. And, when he was done singing for the other boys he continued to whistle.
Too bad you don’t have a palm sized digital voice recorder to record the sounds and introduce them to your blog pages.
