Panorama is nestled in the Purcell Mountains, close to Invermere, about 300km west of Calgary, and 150km north of Cranbrook.
The scenery is divine and can be enjoyed from just about every angle. A couple of unique ways of exploring the mountains are via dogsled, by helicopter, by Sleigh, or by ATV / snowmobile. In the summer: by mountain bike or white water raft.
We opted to explore the area around the mountain village on foot. There’s plenty of x-country trails surrounding the resort. After dark we spent time climbing a giant ice castle between the training hills and the shopping area. The castle is rebuilt weekly.
